Marie Severson is a speech language pathologist and certified brain injury specialist with experience in acute, acute rehabilitation, skilled nursing, and private practice settings since 2017. She enjoyed a long student career in NSSLHA at the local, regional, and national levels which sparked her engagement with ASHA leaders and professionals across the country. Marie strongly values education and mentorship, both serving as a mentor and receiving mentorship from others. She earned the ASHA Distinguished Early Career Professional Award in 2020 and her first ASHA ACE award in 2019. She has held various roles within her state speech pathology organization since 2016 and has presented at both ASHA and WSHA on topics related to dysphagia and medical speech pathology. She holds clinical certifications in MDTP and SPEAK OUT! and is the owner of an adult neuro focused private practice in Madison, WI.
