I am delighted to have Kristin Murphey on the podcast for my next COVID Conversation. In response to the significant impact this public health crisis is having on our work, our lives, and our healthcare system, I’ve teamed up with my fellow SLPs to share insights into how the pandemic has changed their practice and what they’re doing to adapt. Kristin Murphey, M.S. CCC-SLP is a medical speech-language pathologist in her tenth year of professional practice in adult rehabilitation. She received her Master’s of Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and is currently working at Maplewood Rehabilitation Facility in Sauk City, WI in subacute, long term, outpatient and home health care. She is a certified Dementia Care Specialist and is working toward becoming a Board-Certified Specialist in Swallowing and Swallowing Disorders. She is an ASHA Ace Award recipient for continuing education. She is an active member of ASHA Special Interest Group 13 (Swallowing and Swallowing Disorders) and the Wisconsin Speech and Hearing Association (WSHA) where she volunteers to coordinate the medical track for annual convention. Kristin is passionate about improving quality of life through patient-centered care and providing mentorship to new SLPs .
